Customer Service lacking

It saddens me that I have to write a 3 star review because the installers were very knowledgeable, quick, and personable. However their receptionist was rude and out of line when I was trying to educate myself on how their service works. I had broken my living room window which is about 10 inches from the floor and I have a 2 year old running around. So the day I broke the window I tried calling around to multiple different places to see who could fix the window the fastest so that my son would not cut himself in the week quoted for the new window to be ordered and installed. I had asked about having them clean the glass from the window Mary (the receptionist) suggested that I put cardboard up to block the window. However this was not going to work. Anyone who has a 2 year old knows that something new in a room means they must play with it. I was looking for a better alternative. After a exhaustive discussion with Mary about options that my family had, which was pay them to come out and put cardboard up over the window I replied that i could do that but I still didn't understand what they would do if I had a single ply window that was now open to the elements. In her frustration she told me that she had been answering phones for a dozen years and she could tell that they couldn't please me and I should take my business elsewhere. So I took a step back and replied that i didn't understand their process. "I have not cussed at you, raised my voice, or called you names and I am just trying to understand why there is no other options than cardboard for a week." After this statement she came with a new tune and said that I could pay to have a temporary window installed for the week. I said great installer was out two hours later measuring cleaning and installing a temporary window. He also informed me that do to new state laws the window has to be tempered and we ended up buying another window for my sons room that was tempered as well along with two screens. So today I got the new windows installed. once again the installer was amazing, quick and was even better with my son. Great guy! So I called Staley glass right after he left to pay the rest of my bill and talk to Mary about how she treated me and handled my call on the first day. She still had the same attitude and told me she didn't need a lecture. I have been requesting a call from Mike (owner) for over a week and she told me that he is out of town. I have to assume she is telling the truth but I have my skepticism. Long story short the product and service was exactly what I would hope for at $435.18. However my encounter with Mary will make me shop elsewhere in the future do to the lack of people skills and her need to refuse to apologize for her tone and rhetoric to me. I would have taken my business elsewhere after day one if I would have found anyone that was replacing just glass instead of the whole frame.
